RED WATER

Due to COVID-19 both Oceanside and San Diego had their beaches shut down for a couple weeks. No surfing, walking, swimming. During that time it rained for about a week straight, which allowed for some new sandbars to be created from the opening of a river mouth and dredging.

The combination of heavy rain and warmer water creates a reddish, brown water during day, and a neon natural light show at night. The first week Oceanside beaches reopened Kai Takayama and David Arganda scored some waves on fresh sandbars and red water.
