NATURE OF SURF WOMEN
Imagine if more women would surf! The impact it would have on our social wellbeing, self-esteem, and quality of life taking time to ourselves to chase waves and spend more time in nature.
Nature of Surf Women is a first-of-its-kind, immersive book that will take you on a visual and audio journey with women surfers in Nosara, Costa Rica.
“We spent a year living and riding waves with the women of Nosara to learn about their lifestyle practices, community life and devotion to the ocean. We want to tell their stories using different media and technology”. Ivana Bajic, author and producer.
We partnered with two extraordinary creators—ex-pro surfer and holistic surf coach Holly Beck and legendary audio naturalist Martyn Stewart—to create the perfect atmosphere for your mindful journey.
The book consists of 22 stories of individual journeys, best friends adventuring together, family challenges, finding surf buddies as well as mother-daughter bonding.
Each story will have a QR code that will take the audience onto the waves and into the lives and hearts of these extraordinary female surfers.
In her artistic approach, photographer Gabriela Tellez displays the distinctive interaction between woman and nature to show how we can recreate the relationship with the world in which we live. A mosaic of 30 women from ages 12 to 67 of all ethnicities, body types, and skill levels coming together to form a unique artistic image representing the beauty and strength of the female body.

The project is now Live on Kickstarter and our hope is that we will help women to identify with those on the pages of this book, and inspire them to grab a board and go surfing!
