ALL THAT IS GOLD DOES NOT GLITTER

 

Freedom and surfing, two things we can look out as gold during these pandemic days, although they do not glitter.

Vissla’s Europe surfer Gatien Delahaye has been quite on one lately, finishing the year at a 25th place finish on the surfing WQS, he’s one of those promising new generation of surfer the Caribbean island of Guadeloupe has produced. This butterfly-shaped Volcanic island is one of the east Caribbean’s most consistent surf destinations as it basically never goes flat, providing its locals a constant amount of grindable waves in warm waters.

Following the end of the 2019 WQS season in Hawaii, It was time for Gatien to be stress-free by going back at home, spend some joyful times with his loved ones, soak up a heaps amount of laid-back Caribbean vibes and eventually, scores Guadeloupe’s finest reefs would be the cherry on top. Luckily for him, 2019 finished on a good run of clean swell the Caribbean hasn’t seen for a while and It’s safe to say that the young 22 years old didn’t miss a piece of it.
