SAIL FOR SURF

Collin Martins is a chef with only one goal in mind: surfing. The virus was born at the age of 3 when his parents put him on a surfboard in Cap Ferret. It often starts like this. But the course of Collin and his passion for surfing is really atypical and unique.

In his quest for a wave, he decides to cross a step in 2017 when he wanted to be autonomous on the peninsula with a sailboat. Without any knowledge in the field, he carried out a professional training of marine navigation, bought a sailboat and took as headland Indonesia.

4-5 months a year, Collin finds himself on his boat sailing in the archipelago.

 His unique goal: surfing.

  • How: in autonomy on his sailboat

  • Feeding: in autonomy with underwater fishing

Collin is a person who lives for and by surfing. He devotes his life to it. He works only for that purpose.

His Instagram account? "Sail_for_surf". All is said!

In itself, this is the dream life of all surfers but few people make the step. Yet there is nothing extraordinary. Collin is aboard his boat, he surfs, feeds on his fishing, meets local people. He lives simply, passion, adventure and connected to nature.

In our society of overconsumption and, despite everything, of ecological awareness, the story of this surfer is worth telling. It bears witness to something essential: it is by living simply that we respect the most the nature and reconnect with it. It is not Collin who is in contact with nature. It is his choice of life that connects him directly with it.

This testimony of this simple way of life makes sense in our society today. We do not want to teach a lesson. Through this documentary, we want to challenge, to take a step back on our way of life. Because it is through a simple life that we will preserve and make the most of what surrounds us.

We want to inspire people about chasing your dream, testify that everything is possible.
