WATCH: THE VISION MACHINE

Along the northeast coast of Australia with his candid camera, the machine seize frames.

When Lilian arrived in Byron Bay last September, he started discussing with his mate Nick Cater to create a short movie with local surfers. At the time, he was reading "The vision machine" by Paul Virilio, he made the link directly with is own camera and everything it seizes. The objective was to show the connection of the people with each element within the frame: the environment and the ocean.

He mixed frames from his camera and his cell phone in order to use any means of image capture. All characters are friends and memorable encounters he had along the way. The Vision Machine is therefore a short indie surf movie, a thrilling visual experience lasting 20 minutes. It highlights a visual journey and emotion which the characters are able to provide in front of the vision machine.
